Greetings all,
We had a great week! This week we will be learning more about Economics, mainly budgeting, spending, and saving. At the end of the week we will touch on some Economic vocab words that we will use while learning about Native Americans, Explorers, and the Colonies. We will wrap up physical features tomorrow with a huge cookie that we will decorate with the physical features! I am so excited!
In Reading we learned about summarizing a fiction text and this week we will learn about summarizing a non fiction text. Don't forget that your student should be reading every night and completing an Eagle Eye (that you need to sign) every week.
Grammar we will focus on progressive verbs and still review relative pronouns. Look for homework on Monday that will be on adjectives, that will be due Friday, front and back of the page. We will have a quiz on Friday, just have your student review our Daily Language that we do everyday this week.
In writing we will continue to learn about the writing process, the organizer, and editing a paper. In Science they will be starting their first "big writing" assignment involving the water cycle.
As a reminder, we are having a "green out" on Friday. We have visitors coming from the State Department of Education to officially present us with the Green Ribbon Award! So exciting!
We have launched our My Whole School program and students are earning points towards a hat and their first pin!
Have a great week! If your student comes and tells me what they should wear on Friday, I will have special pencil for them!
Thanks,
Mrs. Borg
